Michelle Micetich, granddaughter of coal mining immigrants and avid genealogist, will present "Stories of Immigrants in Illinois, 1865-1913 Following the Civil War's end, thousands of European families poured into our coal mining region to meet new challenges and opportunities. Living in recognizably ethnic households and neighborhoods these immigrants literally built and grew our current communities. Hear the real life stories of these diverse individuals and families as they work, play, learn, build, celebrate births and marriages, and bury their dead. Dinner features a choice of two entrees, salad, soup, and dessert. A cash bar will be available.

Free Siberian Rescue hosts this day-long, FREE event with seminars in the Utica Room and The Fox Ridge outdoor area on the Lodge grounds on the fascinating characteristics of Siberian Huskies and their relatives. Sled Dog demos will take place east if Park's Visitor Center throughout the day.
