On Friday and Saturday Steve Bailey an ornithologist will be here for Owl Programs and Owl Walks. Programs are at 6:00p.m. with an Owl Walk to follow both days, finishing back at the Lodge around 8:30p.m. Price is $10.00 for adults and $7.00 for children 10 yrs and younger. Everyone should plan on bringing a flashlight. During the program, Steve will have some owl specimens, feathers and pellets. He will be trying to call in a Screech, Barred and Great Horned Owls. Maybe if we are lucky we will see some nests or uncommon wintering owls.

This exhibit, The Pilgrim Roy Invitational Challenge, features 16 quilts made by new and nationally known quilt makers from around the world. Participants were gien a preselected group of fabrics and challenged to make a unique quilt. The show will display over 200 quilts and quilted items made by members of the guild.

Board a trolley outside of the Great Hall area of the Lodge. Enjoy a historic trolley ride with stops at the Starved Rock State Park Visitor Center where you will see a short video of the area. You will also travel to the Illinois Waterway Visitor Center where you will see Starved Rock from across the river and watch as the river traffic lock through the locks. You will also travel through the village of Utica and hear about the Illinois and Michigan Canal. While aboard, the driver will narrate the history and legends of the area.

Board a Starved Rock Trolley and travel to the Illinois River Winery for a tour of the winery and learn how the grapes go from the vine to the bottle. We will also stop at their tasting room to taste some of their award winning wine. Step back on the trolley to travel to Cattails for some shopping and more wine tasting. The trolley will also stop downtown Utica for another wine tasting at the August Hill Winery.
